Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

Fully Remote from NI/ROI

My remote-first client is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own their backend architecture, infrastructure, reliability, and security.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain backend services with Node.js and TypeScript
• Own AWS infrastructure (Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM)
• Drive technical decisions and engineering best practices
• Improve CI/CD, observability, and platform reliability

What we're looking for

• 5+ years' backend or full-stack experience with a backend focus
• Strong Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and PostgreSQL skills
• Solid understanding of authentication, permissions, and API security
• Experience with DevOps practices and production systems
• Clear communicator who is comfortable taking ownership

Bonus points

• Serverless or event-driven architectures
• Media processing, file handling, or asset management experience
• Startup or small product team experience
